About this coloring page
Three horns, a big bumpy frill and a wide smile make this triceratops a favorite. The frill edge has lots of small bumps to fill, a nice detailed challenge alongside the big round body.
Triceratops ate plants and had a beak a bit like a parrot's for snipping tough stems. Scientists think its big frill may have helped it show off to other triceratops. How do animals show off today? Think of a peacock spreading its tail, then let little ones fill the round body while older kids color each frill bump one at a time.
Fun factThe name Triceratops means three-horned face.
- Color ideaMake the frill orange with yellow bumps and leave the horns a creamy bone color.
- After coloringPoint to each horn and count to three in a loud dinosaur voice.
