About this coloring page
Quick and curious, this little raptor is caught mid-stride with its tail stretched out for balance. With only a handful of big shapes, it is a calm, easy page for small hands.
Velociraptor fossils have been found in the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. Find Mongolia on a map or globe with your child and talk about what a desert is like: hot days, cold nights and lots of sand. The long, straight tail is good for a steady stroke, while the claws on the hands and feet are small spots for a pencil.
Fun factVelociraptor was about the size of a turkey and had feathers.
- Color ideaAdd feathery stripes of brown and orange along the tail with short flicks of the crayon.
- After coloringRun in place as fast as a raptor for ten seconds.
