About this coloring page
A spotted mushroom cap tops this cozy fairy house, which has an arched door and a round window. The spots and grass tufts give a pleasant medium level of detail.
A real mushroom grows from tiny threads hidden in the soil, and the cap we see often pops up after rain. Compare this house with a picture of a real mushroom and talk about which parts match. The spots on the cap are good for practicing careful coloring, and the grass tufts can be quick green flicks.
Fun factMushrooms are not plants; they belong to a group of living things called fungi.
- Color ideaColor the cap red with white spots and the door a warm wood brown.
- After coloringImagine who lives inside the mushroom house and draw them at the window.
