About this coloring page
Layers of petals spread out from a smiling center in this rangoli design. Its repeating pattern is fun to color in rings at a medium level.
Rangoli patterns are symmetrical, which means each side matches the side across from it. Point to one petal, then find its twin on the opposite side and color both the same, a simple way to practice matching. Younger kids can work around the circle one petal at a time, while older kids might shade the inside of each petal darker than its edge.
Fun factRangoli are colorful floor patterns made with colored powder, rice or flower petals, especially during Diwali.
- Color ideaColor each ring of petals a different bright color, like pink, orange, yellow and green.
- After coloringMake a small rangoli pattern with colored paper, rice or flower petals.
