About this coloring page

Two tall towers with flags stand on each side of an arched wooden gate. With a moderate number of parts, it sits at a medium level and makes a nice stepping stone toward the bigger castle pages.

Fold an imaginary line down the middle of this gate, and the left side almost matches the right. That is called symmetry. Look for the twin towers, the matching flags and the arched door split into two halves. Try coloring both sides the same way, so the castle looks balanced like a mirror.

Fun fact

Many castle gates had a heavy grid of wood or metal called a portcullis that could slide down to block the way in.

  • Color ideaColor the walls sandy beige, the gate dark brown, and the tower roofs teal.
  • After coloringKnock on a door three times and pretend it is the castle gate opening.
